The Yoruba Youth Council (YYC) has lauded the leadership of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) under the stewardship of Group Managing Director Mr. Mele Kyari, celebrating recent advancements in the company’s operations and strategic leadership appointments.
The YYC acknowledged NNPCL’s remarkable achievement of increasing Nigeria’s daily crude oil production to 1.8 million barrels per day. This milestone, achieved with the support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, is seen as a transformative development for Nigeria’s economy, signaling progress toward greater economic stability and global competitiveness.
Speaking on the recent leadership changes, the YYC commended the appointments of Mr. Adedapo Segun as Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Isiyaku Abdullahi as Executive Vice President (Downstream), and Mr. Udobong Ntia as Executive Vice President (Upstream). The council expressed confidence that these new leaders would bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to propel NNPCL toward operational excellence and sustainable growth.
YYC President, Comrade Eric Oluwole, emphasized that the leadership of Mr. Mele Kyari has demonstrated unwavering commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s oil sector, fostering transparency, and positioning the company as a key player in the global energy market. The council passed a vote of confidence in Mr. Kyari’s leadership, commending his efforts to enhance financial sustainability and governance within the organization.
The YYC also praised President Tinubu’s administration for creating an enabling environment that has allowed NNPCL to achieve these milestones. The council expressed optimism about the future, believing that NNPCL’s ongoing progress will further bolster Nigeria’s energy sector and economic prospects.
As a national youth body, the YYC reaffirmed its support for NNPCL’s leadership and called on stakeholders to recognize the company’s vital role in driving Nigeria’s development.
