THE NIGERIA POLICE FORCE HOSTS YOUTH SUMMIT ON ENHANCING NATIONAL SECURITY

Abuja, August 12, 2024 – The Nigeria Police Force today organized a Youth Summit under the theme “Enhancing the Nigeria Youth’s Value for National Security Intelligence.” The event, held in Abuja, brought together young leaders, security experts, and representatives from various government agencies to discuss the critical role of Nigerian youth in bolstering national security through intelligence gathering and cooperation.

The summit aimed to foster a greater understanding among the youth regarding their contributions to national security and how they can actively participate in safeguarding the nation. Keynote speakers emphasized the importance of youth involvement in intelligence efforts and encouraged young Nigerians to become proactive in reporting suspicious activities and collaborating with security agencies.

In his opening remarks, the Inspector General of Police highlighted the pivotal role of youth in creating a safer and more secure Nigeria. He urged the participants to view themselves as essential partners in the country’s security architecture, emphasizing that their engagement and vigilance are crucial in addressing contemporary security challenges.

The event featured panel discussions, workshops, and interactive sessions designed to equip the youth with the knowledge and tools necessary to contribute effectively to national security. Participants also had the opportunity to engage with senior police officers and security professionals, discussing strategies for improving youth participation in intelligence gathering and community policing.
