The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), under the dynamic and proactive leadership of Ambassador Solomon Adodo, has vehemently condemned the unlawful incarceration of innocent Nigerian citizens in Ethiopia.
In a strongly worded statement issued today, Ambassador Adodo decried the unjust treatment of Nigerians, describing it as a gross violation of international human rights and a threat to the diplomatic relations between Nigeria and Ethiopia. He emphasized that no Nigerian should be subjected to inhumane conditions or wrongful imprisonment in any foreign land without due process.
“The National Youth Council of Nigeria stands in solidarity with all victims of this injustice,” said Amb. Adodo. “We call on the Federal Government of Nigeria, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and relevant authorities to intensify diplomatic efforts to secure the immediate release of all innocent Nigerians held in Ethiopian custody.”
The NYCN urged the Ethiopian government to uphold justice and the principles of international law, demanding transparency in their legal processes and fair treatment of foreign nationals.
Amb. Adodo further assured families of the incarcerated individuals that the Council will continue to lend its voice and platform to ensure justice is served and that the dignity of every Nigerian is protected globally.
The NYCN continues to play a critical role in advocating for the rights and welfare of Nigerian youths both at home and abroad.
