NEWS REPORT On June 12, 2025 | Abuja, Nigeria NYCN Joins Nigerian Youths to Celebrate 26 Years of Uninterrupted Democracy

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), under the dynamic leadership of Ambassador Solomon Adodo, on Wednesday, June 12, 2025, led a unifying national rally in Abuja in commemoration of Nigeria’s 26th year of uninterrupted democratic governance.

The event brought together youths from across the six geopolitical zones of the country in a spirited show of patriotism, solidarity, and commitment to democratic ideals. Held in the nation’s capital, the democracy rally featured a peaceful march, cultural displays, and speeches centered on youth inclusion in governance, national unity, and the sustenance of democratic values.

Speaking during the rally, Amb.Solomon Adodo the president of the NYCN and a MEMBER NORTH-CENTRAL COMISSION ,in same vein the youths thank Mr, President Bola Amed Tinubu GCFR, that the appointment of Amb.Solomon Adodo as the a Member North Central Commission is indeed a “square peg in square hole”,emphasized the importance of youth participation in deepening Nigeria’s democracy. “Today marks a historic milestone. Twenty-six years of uninterrupted democracy is not just a celebration for politicians—it is a testament to the resilience of the Nigerian people, especially the youth. We are the custodians of this democratic legacy and must continue to safeguard it with vision, energy, and commitment,” he said.

The rally, which drew wide media attention and participation from several youth organizations, civil society groups, and student unions, echoed calls for greater synergy between the government and the younger generation in policy-making and national development.

As Nigeria marks this significant chapter in its democratic journey, the NYCN reaffirmed its commitment to mobilizing and empowering Nigerian youth for positive engagement, national cohesion, and sustainable peace
