EPL: Arteta names player Arsenal is missing after 1-1 draw with Fulham

Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta has admitted that his team are ‘missing’ defender Gabriel Magalhaes after their Premier League 1-1 draw with Fulham on Sunday.

Gabriel was not named in the match-day squad against Fulham at Craven Cottage as the match ended in a draw, thanks to William Saliba’s second half goal.

The Brazilian centre-back was ruled out of Arsenal’s Premier League 2-0 win over Manchester United in mid-week due to knee injury.

His teammates Riccardo Calafiori, Ben White, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Oleksandr Zinchenko were also omitted from the squad against Fulham too.

Speaking at his post-match press conference, Arteta was asked if his side were ‘missing’ Gabriel and the Spanaird responded: “Yes.”

Arteta then added: “But I’m really pleased with the performance of Jakub and we had to change the whole unit as well.

“We had Jakub there and Jurrien [Timber] on the left which we have never played before and Thomas [Partey] as a full back, and okay he does it.”
