A fire has reportedly engulfed the market at Trademore Estate, located off Umar Musa Yar’Adua Airport Road in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, early Monday morning.

It was gathered that the fire broke out around 4am, though the exact cause of the blaze remains undetermined.

A resident, identified only as Joe, told Vanguard that he became aware of the incident around 4am.

“We are unsure of the cause of the fire but an electrical fault cannot be ruled out,” he said.

Efforts were initially made to contact both the Federal Fire Service and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Fire Service.

“The situation is tense,” Joe added.

According to him, residents managed to alert the fire service stationed at Dunamis Church, who arrived around 5am.

“Two hours after the fire broke out, firefighters from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Sauka stations successfully extinguished the blaze,” he noted.
