Abuja – On September 12, 2024, the Musa Yar’Adua Center in Abuja hosted a pivotal event aimed at harnessing youth potential and expanding career prospects within Nigeria’s burgeoning automotive sector. The initiative was spearheaded by the Office of the Special Assistant to the President on Youth Initiatives, Monitoring, and Delivery.

The event attracted key stakeholders from government, industry, and academia, as well as hundreds of young Nigerians eager to explore career opportunities in the automotive sector. The Special Assistant to the President emphasized the administration’s commitment to empowering the nation’s youth and transforming the automotive industry into a significant contributor to Nigeria’s economy.

Key topics discussed included skills development, Conversion of fuel vehicles to CNG,cautions and procedures , vocational training, and the importance of aligning youth potential with industry needs. The program outlined several actionable steps to ensure that Nigerian youths can tap into emerging opportunities, including partnerships with automotive companies, technical training, and mentorship programs.

In her keynote address, the Special Assistant underscored the role of youth as a driving force in the economic diversification agenda, pointing to the government’s commitment to support initiatives that bridge the gap between education and employment.

The event concluded with a call to action for collaboration among public and private sectors to ensure sustainable growth in Nigeria’s automotive industry, with youth at the forefront.
