‘PDP’s big loss, APC’s gain’ – Presidency reacts as ex-Katsina gov, Shema defects to ruling party

The presidency has reacted to the defection of former Katsina State governor, Ibrahim Shema from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said while Shema’s defection was a big loss to the PDP, the move was a big gain of the APC.

Posting on X, the presidential spokesman wrote: “PDP’s big loss in Katsina, APC’s big gain.”

The former governor of Katsina State, Alhaji Ibrahim Shema formally defected to APC yesterday and was received by the Katsina State governor, Dikko Radda.

Shema, was the state governor between 2007 and 2015, under the PDP.

He was registered at Shema Ward party office, Dutsin-ma local government area, and was issued APC membership card by the state’s party Chairman, Alhaji Sani Aliyu-Daura with the membership card serial number is: 26551.
